Good work

One does not need to be an old hat in the industry to bag the Screen Award. All you need to do is concentrate on making good and meaningful cinema and surely your work will get recognised at least at these awards.

Refer to the editorial by Priyanka Sinha ‘Top honours’ published on March 4. I have been religiously following the Screen Awards for the last couple of years and I agree with the editor’s view. Screen has always given due credit to small-budget films and debutant directors. One does not need to be an old hat in the industry to bag the Screen Award. All you need to do is concentrate on making good and meaningful cinema and surely your work will get recognised at least at these awards. This year too,Udaan, a film that was made on a lean budget emerged

a winner at the awards. I hope that other film awards learn a lesson or two from the prestigious Screen Awards.
