The Allahabad High Court order directing the Greater Noida Authority to maintain status quo regarding land acquisition in Bisrakh and Devla villages may have an impact on some residential projects in the area. The land which has been granted status quo by the HC falls under Greater Noida Sector 1 and is known as Noida Extension.
Officials at the Greater Noida Authority said,We are matching the plot numbers with those allotted to builders. The order may have an impact on the projects promoted by four to five builders.
However, the builders said they have not received any information regarding the HC order. Since we have not received any information on the status of our projects,we believe those have not been affected by the HC decision, said the general manager of one of the projects.
The villagers of Bisrakh say more than four projects have been affected,as out of 32 hectares of land in question approximately 30 hectares belong to them. These projects are on our land, which was forcibly acquired by the Authority, said Ajay Pradhan, the pradhan of Bisrakh village.
Beginning Wednesday, the villagers are on an indefinite dharna demanding that every landless labourer be given a plot measuring 120 sq mt. The government has not done anything for those who earned their livelihood by tilling others land, he said.
A senior official at the Authority said the matter was under consideration. We have told the villagers that these are policy matters and the government has to take a decision, he added. Farmers of Bisrakh and Devla have alleged that the land was acquired for setting up industries but was given to builders instead.
