Shares of Hindustan Construction Company today closed 6.3 per cent down,after the company reported a standalone net loss of Rs 54.17 crore for the quarter ended March 31,2012. Following the company's disappointing results,the scrip closed at Rs 20.05,down 6.31 per cent on the NSE. During the day,the stock lost 7.24 per cent to Rs 19.85. Similarly on the BSE,shares of infrastructure company closed at Rs 20.15,down 5.62 per cent over their previous close. Intra-day,the stock plummeted 6.79 per cent to Rs 19.90. HCC today reported a standalone net loss of Rs 54.17 crore for the quarter ended March 31,2012,largely due to increased finance costs and lower net sales. The company had reported a standalone net profit of Rs 22.61 crore during the corresponding quarter of FY'11. For the full year 2011-12,the company's net loss,on a consolidated basis,has increased to Rs 530.09 crore vis-a-vis a net loss of Rs 64.58 crore.
