Bucking the weak broader market trend,Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) stock surged by nearly five per cent on the bourses today after its shareholders approved raising up to Rs 1,500 crore via share issue. Boosted by the move,the stock settled at Rs 34.15,up 4.92 per cent from the previous close on the BSE. During intra-day trading,the scrip climbed 8.75 per cent to a month's high of Rs 35.40. On the NSE,the stock ended at Rs 34.15,up 4.59 per cent from the previous close. The company in a regulatory filing said that shareholders have approved issue of securities for an aggregate amount,not exceeding Rs 1,500 crore. Meanwhile,the BSE benchmark index Sensex settled at 18,268.54,down 116.36 points from its yesterday close.
