HCL Info shares up 17% on UIDAI byte

Reports say HCL Infosystems has won contract worth of Rs 2,200 cr from UIDAI.

Shares of HCL Infosystems today soared 17 per cent on the bourses amid reports that it has won contract worth of Rs 2,200 crore from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Buoyed by the reports,shares of the company jumped 16.62 per cent to Rs 51.20 on the BSE in the morning trade.

On the NSE,the scrip gained 17 per cent to Rs 51.20. As per reports,the Aadhaar number repository and its IT infrastructure will be run by HCL Infosystems.

HCL Infosystems is now expected to develop an IT backbone for the Aadhaar project,and ultimately handle the data of all 120 crore Indian residents,the report added.

Meanwhile,the broader market,the BSE barometer Sensex was trading over 90 points higher at 17,680 at 1058 hours.
