A protocol officer at the Lok Sabha Secretariat,Janmesh Singh,has gone missing while travelling from Delhi to his native place in Orai in Jalaun district by Sampark Kranti Express.

A protocol officer at the Lok Sabha Secretariat,Janmesh Singh,has gone missing while travelling from Delhi to his native place in Orai in Jalaun district by Sampark Kranti Express on Saturday. His father Jeet Singh lodged a report with the railway police at Jhansi on Monday.

We contacted our relatives and Janmeshs friends,but none knows anything about him, said Jeet Singh,a cashier in the Punjab National Bank in Orai.

Preliminary investigation by the Government Railway Police has shown that after boarding the train in Delhi Saturday evening,Janmesh spoke first to his wife Namrita Ranjan and then to his friend Siddharth.

SP Gholar Prasad Kanaujia said his cellphone went dead after the train reached Dholpur in Rajasthan at 11.47 pm.

A police officer has been sent to Delhi to meet Janmeshs wife and Siddharth. We are also contacting persons who travelled in the same coach, said Kanaujia.

A graduate from JNU, Janmesh joined the Lok Sabha in 2008. He stayed in Dwarka in a rented house. His wife is a lecturer in Agrasen Inter College in Mathura. Janmesh was travelling to Orai to take his mother to Delhi for medical treatment.
