Hero MotoCorp Q2 net profit rises 19%

Hero MotoCorp had reported the highest-ever vehicle sales in the quarter.

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported 19.39 per cent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended September 30 at Rs 603.62 crore due to highest-ever vehicle sales in the period.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 505.60 crore in the corresponding period last year,Hero MotoCorp said in a filing to the BSE.

During the quarter,the company reported its highest ever total income at Rs 5,909.07 crore,up 27.62 per cent from Rs 4,630.30 crore in the year-ago period,it added.

The firm,earlier known as Hero Honda,also saw its highest ever quarterly vehicle sales at 15,44,315 units compared to 12,85,944 units in the same period last year,up 20.09 per cent.

The shares of the company today fell by 0.41 per cent to close at Rs 1,984.85 apiece on the BSE.
