This sizzling summer,a mega party awaits everyone in East Tsim Sha Tsui.
Stocked up with heart-pounding dragon boat races,chilled beer,mouth-watering delicacies,a razzle-dazzle of live performances,and colourful dragon boat exhibitions,the party is set to make the city hotter than ever!
The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival,organised by the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Association (HKDBA),co-organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board(HKTB) and supported by Mega Events Fund,will be held from 23 25July 2010 in East Tsim Sha Tsui. The Carnival covers both the sea and land.
Down in Victoria Harbour,191 dragon boat teams from 12countries and regions will be competing in the Sa Sa 2010 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races. Up on the land at the harbour front,the San Miguel Beer Garden will serve cooling beer,fragrant food and body-shaking live performances,while the Dragon Boat Fun Plaza will offer cultural entertainment. All these culminate in an irresistible,fun-filled carnival in East Tsim Sha Tsui for visitors and local residents alike this summer.
HKTB Chairman Mr James Tien expressed: The HKTB has designated this year as Festive Hong Kong 2010 to promote Hong Kongs distinctive East-meets-West culture and festivities to visitors worldwide. As the anchor event of Festive Hong Kong 2010,the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival celebrates our traditional Chinese culture with modern elements.
It is a real pleasure for the HKTB to work with the HKDBA to enlarge the scale of the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races,while instilling new programmes of different nature to attract even greater participation of visitors and local residents.
