Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy bring in their first score with an aura of success since Rock On!! almost two years back. The high-points in this masala musical are I dont know what to do in which veteran Shabbir Kumar and Sunidhi Chauhan are simply outstanding, Loser (Vivienne Pocha Amitabh Bhattacharya),which is thoroughly enjoyable and Papa jag jayega (Ritu Pathak-Neeraj Shridhar-Alyssa Mendonsa). Oh girl you are mine (Tarun Sagar-Alyssa-Loy) is okay but is strangely made the lead track. The Laawaris recreation is well-rendered (Mika-Sunidhi-Sajid Khan). And yes,this is a much superior score to Heyy Babyy.

more to connoisseurs of Hindi film music,Roshans luminosity is evident in most of the 40 songs present here,though the selection had room for improvement,since there is not a single song from either Neki Aur Badi (Roshans 1949 debut) or his 1951 breakthrough Bawre Nain. Also missing is the milestone Mahalon ka raja mila,the song that he had composed but had to be recorded after his death by Lata Mangeshkar for Anokhi Raat. Another rare gem that could have been included is the title-track of Dur Nahin Manzil (1974) in which Shankar-Jaikishan stepped in after his death.
And yet,whatever is here is so rich that we can overlook the few below-par (for his standards) numbers and savour his masterpieces from Malhar,Aji Bas Shukriya,Dooj Ka Chand,Chitralekha,Barsat Ki Raat,Mamta,Bheegi raat,Devar,Daadi Maa,Dil Hi To Hai,Bahu Begum and many more.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loys score has nothing to write home about. Banware se poonche baawariya (Shaan-Sunidhi) is strictly okay and the rest not even that.
