India,US high level meeting on trade from Mon

India and the US will hold high level discussions in Delhi to strengthen their bilateral commercial ties.

India and the US will hold high level discussions in Delhi on Monday to strengthen their bilateral commercial ties.

“US Trade Representative Ron Kirk who is heading the US delegation for meeting of the US-India Trade Policy Forum (TPF) is also likely to discuss the stalled Doha Round of talks for a global trade deal,” a senior commerce ministry official said.

The TPF deliberates on the difficulties faced by the businessmen of the two countries as regards the government policies and fiscal issues.

Established in July 2005,TPF is an arrangement between the US and India to discuss trade and investment issues.

Kirk,who will meet his Indian counterpart Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma,is also likely to discuss the proposed bilateral investment treaty.
