Jama Masjid blast: Ansari to face Delhi court tomorrow

He will be produced before the Delhi court on September 28.

Taking cognizance of a chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police Special Cell,the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vidya Prakash has issued production warrants for suspected 26/11 handler Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal. He is at present in the custody of the Mumbai Anti Terrorism Squad in connection with his alleged involvement in the German Bakery blast and attack on the Maharashtra Police Academy. He will be produced before the Delhi court on September 28.

The chargesheet,filed on September 20,is a supplementary chargesheet in the Jama Masjid blast case in which 11 alleged members of the IM were chargesheeted earlier.

A total of 15 suspected IM members have been charged in connection with the Jama Masjid firing and blast case as well as various other terror attacks across the country.

The present supplementary chargesheet has been filed separately qua accused Syed Zabiuddin. It is submitted before the court that the accused is presently in police custody remand in other cases pending against him in other states and his production warrant has already been issued in this case for September 28, the court said on Wednesday.

The police have booked Ansari for using a fake passport,possession and use of fake currency,and for criminal conspiracy as well as under various provisions of the Explosive Substances Act,Unlawful Activities Prevention Act,Passport Act,and Arms Act.

Fifteen men Mohd Irshad Khan,Asadullah Rehman,Mohd Adil,Bashir Hasan,Abdul Rehman,Mohd Kafil,Mohd Quateel Siddiqui,Gauhar Aziz,Gayur Ahmed,Mohd Aftab Alam,Tariq Anjum Ahsan,Mohd Shakeel,Kamal Hasan and Kafil have been arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged role in various terror strikes across country.
