Liquor sales in Delhi spike 25%

Delhi government has collected nearly Rs 980 crore revenue from sale of liquor in the last five months of the current fiscal.

Delhi government has collected nearly Rs 980 crore revenue from sale of liquor in the last five months of the current fiscal,registering a growth of 25 per cent over the corresponding period last year.

Officials said 38,36,500 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor were sold between April one and October 13 in the city and revenue amounting to Rs 494.14 crore has been collected from sale of IMFL.

The government has collected a total of Rs 982.24 crore from April one to October 13 through sale of all categories of liquor against Rs 787.17 crore in the corresponding period last year.

“We have registered a 25 per cent growth in revenue collection compared to the same period last year,” they said.
