LS polls semi-final for UP,says Rahul

Rahul Gandhi asked Cong leaders in UP to take LS polls as semi-final and start preparing for the finals the Assembly elections three years later.

Sharing his Vision 2012,Rahul Gandhi on Monday asked Congress leaders in Uttar Pradesh to take the Lok Sabha elections as the semi-final and start preparing for the finals the Assembly elections three years later.

This election is just the semi-final for Uttar Pradesh. We have to prepare for the final that will come after three years. Im sure that if we work hard,then in the final there will be our government in Uttar Pradesh, the AICC general secretary said in his address at a meeting of the UP Congress executive.

An executive member said Rahul had shared his Vision 2012 with some partymen in the past,but this was the first time he spoke to the entire executive about it.

During this recent meeting in Delhi with the four Youth Congress zonal presidents of Uttar Pradesh also,Rahul had spoken about his Vision 2012 and had asked them to start working for it.

We are forming our organisation in such a manner that it will benefit us in the Vidhan Sabha elections that are due for 2012, Rahul said.

The meeting was held at an engineering college in Mohanlalganj area after Sonia Gandhi filed her nomination papers for the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency. In her brief remarks,Sonia asked partymen to remember that party comes first and then comes the individual.

You should all forget the differences and make each and every Congress candidate win, she added.
