LT unit bags orders of 2,503 cr

Electrical and Gulf Projects Operating Company has bagged orders worth Rs 2,503 crore.

Electrical and Gulf Projects Operating Company (EGP OC),a part of Larsen and Tubro’s (LT) Construction Division,has bagged orders worth Rs 2,503 crore for domestic and international projects in the third quarter (Q3) of 2010-11.

The projects include laying of transmission lines,setting up of sub-stations and railway construction work,a company release said here today.

The construction company has bagged orders worth Rs 1,516 crore and Rs 987 crore from domestic and international markets,respectively.

In the domestic market,EGP OC won an order worth Rs 290 crore from Indiabulls for works related to its thermal power projects at Amravati and Nashik in Maharashtra.

A Rs 375-crore project has been awarded by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam for laying 765 kV transmission line from Anta to Phagi and to set up a 220/132 kv gas insulated substation at Mansarovar,the release said.

The company has signed a Rs 103-crore contract for laying a 400 kv transmission line in Chhattisgarh from KSK Mahanadi Power Company.

Besides,the firm will set up a turkey project for 400 kv substations at Alwar and Deedwana in Rajasthan along with the associated transmission lines for Rs 300 crore. Another contract,valued at Rs 190 crore,is related to a railway project in Tamil Nadu.

The company has won a Rs 258-crore contract to set up a solar plant of 20 MW at Patan,Gujarat,from Kiran Energy Solar Power.
