Meghalaya govt issues notice to NBFCs

We have issued notices to five non-banking financial companies operating in Jaintia Hills: Dkhar.

Meghalaya government has issued notices to several non-banking financial companies (NBFC) operating in Jaintia Hills district for allegedly duping investors crores of money.

“We have issued notices to five non-banking financial companies operating in Jaintia Hills,” Deputy Commissioner T Dkhar said.

“The district administrator was acting on complaints received by the administration from several people who were lured into investing huge amount of money into these ompanies,” he said.

The police registered more than three cases against non-banking companies operating in Jaintia Hills district alone.

A senior police officer said,”In Jaintia Hills alone,these companies have duped investors to the tune of Rs 10 crores.”
