The Health Ministry has asked the Comptroller & Auditor General of India to conduct annual transaction audits of the National Rural Health Mission in all states from the 2011-12 financial year. Minister of State Sudip Bandopadhyay said this in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday while answering an unstarred question from Dr K P Ramalingam.
