Mir said he had always stood for strengthening democratic institutions in Kashmir.

Accused of taking money from the army to destabilise the Omar Abdullah government,Jammu and Kashmir agriculture minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has offered to face an investigation. “I offer myself up to an open and time-bound probe to look into these allegations,” Mir said in a statement Wednesday. Mir said he had always stood for strengthening democratic institutions in Kashmir and he did not need anybody to certify his credentials. He dismissed the allegations levelled against him by former army chief V K Singh as “politically motivated and absolutely false”.
