Lok Sabha protocol officer Janmesh Singh,who went missing on August 27,called his father in Orai in Jalaun district from a PCO in Kedarnath on Thursday.
Janmeshs father Jeet Singh,a cashier in the Punjab National Bank in Orai,said,He told me that he is in Kedarnath and would come back in 2-3 days. He said he had given the telephone number from which Janmesh called to the police and also told them about the conversation they had.
Janmesh,a protocol officer at the Lok Sabha secretariat,went missing on the night of August 27 when he was coming to his native place Orai from Delhi. He had boarded the Sampark Kranti Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station in Delhi and was to get off at Jhansi. A case was lodged with GRP Jhansi on August 29.
STF DSP Triveni Singh,who was heading the search team,said,We are waiting for him to come back as it will take around two days to reach Orai from Kedarnath. Earlier,the police had said Janmeshs mobile presence was found near Jhansi railway station on August 28 and his mobile was on till the train reached Dhaulpur Railway Station.
Janmesh last received a call from his friend Siddharth,a Delhi University student,who called him on the night of August 27. I had called him to ask if he was home because I wanted to borrow his bike as my car had broken down that night near his house. But he told me that he was going to his native place to bring his mother, said Siddharth.
Janmeshs wife Namrata Singh said,Janmesh was all right when he left for Orai. He was neither depressed nor angry with anyone,I dont know how he reached Kedarnath.
