Ranjith to direct the superstar in Spirit

Ranjith and Mohanlal are all set to come together again after a gap of almost five years. The last time Mohanlal had acted in a Ranjith-directed film was in Rock n Roll,and now they team up once again in Spirit,which is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas. Mohanlal essays a powerful character named Raghunandan while Kaniha is the heroine. Scenarist-director Shankar Ramakrishnan also plays a key role in the film while the cast also includes Nandu,Kalpana,Lena,Madhu,Thilakan etc.

Ranjith has penned the script for Spirit,which has Venu as the cinematographer and Vijai Shankar in charge of editing. Songs by Rafeek Ahamed are set to tune by Shahbaz Aman. Raghunandans story is going to be different, says National Award winner Ranjith and adds,Here its not the usual good vs. evil story. Good is pitted against good here.

Specialist is next

For Mohanlal,who has completed work on the B. Unnikrishnan-directed Grandmaster,the next in line is Specialist.

Sources close to the actor reveal that Mohanlal had given the nod to the film as the character that he is playing is different and interesting and the storyline impressive.

Specialist is to be directed by P. Balachandra Kumar. A relative newcomer in Malayalam cinema,he is at present directing the Asif-Mythili-Bala starrer Cowboy.

Specialist is being produced by Joy Thomas Shakthikulangara,who had earlier produced Mohanlals hit film Hello.
