What inspired you to take up Shor In The City?
I always wanted to come to India and do a Bollywood film and was waiting for the right script. When the directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK gave me the short film on which Shor In The City is based,I was blown away and readily agreed to do the film.

Tell us about the character you play in the film?
I play an NRI who returns to India in order to set up a Non-Profit Organisation. His name is Abhay and he is naive to the ways in which India works. Abhay gets into trouble with some local goons who want “protection” money. It’s about how he deals with this situation.

Tell us about your co-star Preeti Desai. How was it working with her?
It was great to work with Preeti, she was extremely professional and respectful towards others.

It is being said that it is a realistic film and most of it has been shot at real locations. How was your experience?
Shooting this film was an experience of a lifetime, something I shall always treasure. Most of the scenes were shot in the by lanes of Mumbai. The chaos of the city has been beautifully captured in the film. There is calmness inside the chaos of shooting in Mumbai that really appealed to me. I would love to do it again.

This is your first Bollywood project, how was it being a part of the Indian film industry?
It was a humbling experience. It was much more chaotic than shooting in the US but we always finished on time and everything always got done. The passion for cinema right from the spot boy to the directors was very heartening to see. The Director of Photography on Shor In The City,Tusshar Ray,was phenomenal. One of the best I have worked with. I would love to be shot by him again.

What would you do post the shooting schedule?
After shooting I would go out with the crew for a few drinks and have blast.

Did you get a chance to hang around the city?
I didn’t get much time to see the city as it was a very busy schedule but managed to sneak in a few visits here and there,of which my favorite place was the Gateway of India.

Do you watch Bollywood films?
I haven’t seen anything lately. The last film I saw was 3 Idiots and thought it was a fun film. The Hindi film industry seems to be evolving with time. I would really like to work with Rajkumar Hirani and Ashutosh Gowariker. I enjoyed Jodhaa Akbar very much.

Tell us about your international career. What are you working on these days?
I am currently filming a new series called Covert Affairs, from the makers of Bourne Identity,Bourne Supremacy,Bourne Ultimatum, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I play a CIA agent on the show and am having a blast. I am in Toronto right now on set shooting the second season of the show. Covert Affairs was the #1 new show on cable TV in the U.S.,last year and I am so pleased to be on another hit TV show and to be working with Doug and his team.

Any Indian projects in the pipeline?
I would love to take up Bollywood films if the scripts excite and appeal to me. There have been many offers from various production houses but nothing has caught my attention.
