Featuring dance troupes from Myanmar,a five-day North East Spring Festival would be kicked off at Dimapur from March 16.
Being organised by the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at its complex at Dimapur,the festival would be a mega Northeast-centric carnival capturing the mood and brilliance of springtime,said council director Som Kamei.
The event will also feature a book fair and seminars organised by National Book Trust at the same venue where Lou Majaw of Shillong is expected to add sheen to the carnival being participated by over 500 artistes.

The festival will showcase the biggest ensemble of folk dances,folk music,puppeteers,craftsmen,poets,choral singers,theatre groups,chefs and others from the region and other parts of the country.
A major highlight of the fest would be the performance of cultural troupes from Myanmar being sponsored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
This dance troupes along with cultural troupes from other Zonal Cultural Centres of the country would also perform at Mokokchung and Medziphema as part of the NEZCC’s outreach programme,the director said.
