Nepal orders freeze of Dawood’s assets

The government has directed the authorities to freeze the assets of 224 individuals and 64 groups with links to al-Qaeda.

The Nepalese government Tuesday announced it would enforce a UN freeze on bank accounts of over 200 terror suspects,including Dawood Ibrahim. The officials,however,said they have no information of Dawood having any assets in the nation.

The government has directed the authorities to freeze the assets of 224 individuals and 64 groups with links to al-Qaeda,said Nepal Home Ministry spokesperson Shanker Prasad Koirala said. “The list came from the UN Security Council. Nepal does not have any information on Dawood Ibrahim or his assets,” he said.
