Nissan Motor India today reported over two-fold jump in sales for October to 2,990 units,on the back of the recently launched sedan Sunny.
The company had sold 1,131 units in the same month last year,Nissan Motor India said in a statement.
“Sales were driven by the recently launched all-new Sunny sedan,which accounted for 1,340 units of the October total,” it added.
The Sunny has received over 2,000 booking orders since its launch six weeks ago,the company said.
“The Micra compact premium hatchback,also produced in Oragadam,continues to be Nissan’s top-selling model and accounted for 1,619 unit sales last month — a 52 per cent increase compared to 2010,” it added.
Commenting on the performance,NMIPL Managing Director Kiminobu Tokuyama said: “October’s sales are very encouraging and demonstrate the sustained progress Nissan is making within the Indian market.”
