The project, aimed to leverage technology as an enabler to curb traffic disruption in the city, will be implemented across the East,West and Highway traffic zones in its first phase,Nokia India said.

Up to 300 traffic police personnel stationed at different locations in the city will be equipped with the technology to monitor traffic violations.

Out of 300,50 traffic marshals have already been given a Nokia E5 each which is installed with the software Tselina that will allow them to capture photo evidence of the traffic violation including vehicle with the surroundings, licence plate and the driver’s face if possible.

The police or public can retrieve the photograph at a later stage and use them as evidence to penalise offenders.
