Oliver joins SkodaAuto India as MD Tech Affairs

SkodaAuto India announced the appointment of Oliver Gruenberg as its new Managing Director Technical Affairs.

SkodaAuto India,a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto AS,Czech Republic and one of the most promising automobile companies in India,announced the appointment of Dr. Oliver Gruenberg as its new Managing Director Technical Affairs.

Oliver Gruenberg assumed responsibilities from August 1st 2010 and has taken over from Jean-Marie Lagey,Managing Director Technical Affairs who retired from Skoda Auto India after a distinguished tenure.

In his previous capacity as Manufacturing Director and Deputy General Director of Volkswagen Russia,Gruenberg played a key role in driving the business in Russia. After having led the company to production readiness in full cycle production in 2009,he took over the responsibility for the Volkswagen plant in Sarajevo Bosnia within the business area of driving systems.

A student of Physics from the Technical University of Braunschweig,Dr. Gruenberg has also completed his Doctorate in Engineering Sciences. He did his doctoral theme in engineering sciences on quality improvement in high volume car coating techniques. He joined the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg in 1995 completing his Doctorate during his stint at Volkswagen. Since then,he has taken several positions of rising responsibilities within Volkswagen Group.
