Omar meets PC on J-K Dogra certificate

The Dogra certificates,the CM pointed out,was only meant to enable the residents of Jammu region to apply for jobs reserved for them in the paramilitary forces

With the issue of Dogra certificate in Jammu and Kashmir fast turning into a point of conflict and Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani warning the Omar Abdullah-led state government to rescind the order by April-end or face protests,the Chief Minister met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday. Omar Abdullah,who also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi,apprised them about the law and order situation in the state.

The Dogra certificates,the CM pointed out,was only meant to enable the residents of Jammu region to apply for jobs reserved for them in the paramilitary forces.

He told the Home Minister about the ongoing panchayat elections,the recently-held elections to Legislative Council and the prevailing politico-economic scenario in the state.
