PDP seeks Omar’s resignation

Opposition PDP on Saturday demanded resignation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah,minister Nasir Aslam Wani and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah over the death of a National Conference worker. “They must resign. So long as they remain in power,they will manufacture evidence,” PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig said.

Syed Mohammad Yousuf died allegedly in custody after two party workers accused him of taking Rs 1.18 crore for getting them Legislative Council berths.

A government spokesman said Beig’s “statement laced with speculative,unfounded conjectures does not deserve to be taken cognizance of”. Independent legislator Engineer Abdul Rashid has also called for Omar’s resignation.
