PMO to review implementation of Central schemes today

This will include the special packages announced by the Prime Minister to Kashmir,sources said.

Amidst the uneasy situation in the Kashmir valley,the Prime Ministers Office will on Thursday review the implementation of the Central schemes and programmes being run in Jammu and Kashmir.

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister,Pulok Chatterji,has summoned officials from all the relevant ministries and also from the state government to take stock of the implementation of all the various announcements and promises made by the Central government to the Kashmiri people in the last few years. This will include the special packages announced by the Prime Minister to Kashmir,sources said.

This is the first such exercised after the execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru,which is considered to have resulted in a fresh wave of disenchantment of the people of Kashmir with the Central government.
