Prime Focus wins ASIFA IAD 2010 award for Raavan

Prime Focus’ VFX team has won the Association of International Du Film D’ Animation (ASIFA) International Animation Day (IAD) 2010 award for their work on Raavan. The project was supervised by Prime Focus’ VFX Supervisor Reupal Rawal. Prime Focus received two nominations in the Awards of Excellence Professional category. Commenting on the award,Merzin Tavaria,Chief Creative Director,Prime Focus said,“We are delighted to receive the ASIFA IAD Award. The fact that this film was not just made in Hindi but also had a Tamil version,meant that all the effects had to be recreated,as the Tamil version was re-shot with different characters – this made our contribution far more challenging and satisfying. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the jury of the ASIFA IAD 2010 and the makers of Raavan for recognising and appreciating our talent and effort.” The Prime Focus team worked on various important sequences of the film. Their work on the project included generating photoreal CG of landscapes,mountains and rainfall besides creating spectacular effects for important sequences in the movie. Hungama offers music coupons for Sify cybercafe users

Hungama Digital Media,one of the biggest distributor of Bollywood content,has entered into a strategic partnership with Sify Technologies that operates the chain of Sify cybercafes. As part of this alliance,consumers can purchase coupons from the various Sify cyber cafes spread across the country and buy and download the music of their choice. The consumer can pay cash for the coupons. He/she is then given a password to log in and download the music from Hungama.com. The coupons are priced at Rs 99,Rs 49 and Rs 10. Each Sify coupon allows only a one-time purchase and its validity ends on consumption.
