Rahul Gandhi’s words on Kanshiram hurt like thorn: Mayawati

Mayawati says Cong talks of respecting Kanshiram,sounds like an insult.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s praise of BSP founder Kanshiram,party president Mayawati on Tuesday said his words “hurt like a thorn’’ because neither the Congress nor Rahul Gandhi had uttered any words of sympathy at the time of Kanshiram’s death.

At a press conference on Monday,Rahul Gandhi had said he respected Kanshiram as “a true leader who moved politics in UP’’.

In a statement,Mayawati said when “the Congress or its Yuvraj’’ talks of respecting Kanshiram,it sounds like an insult for which they cannot be forgiven.

Meanwhile,Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha has sent the CD,containing video recording of Mayawati’s Monday rally in Gorakhpur where she had said the opposition parties were using their “pet dogs” for spoiling her programme,to the Election Commission.
