As many as 238 commandoes were being trained by the National Security Guards for the formation of an NSG-like team,Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said at the meeting of chief ministers in New Delhi on Tuesday. Called Force-1,the commandoes were being equipped with modern firearms and communication facilities. The force would be on call 24 hours to attend to emergencies in the state,said Chavan,while asking for allocation of Rs 18 crore for setting up the force. At the meeting,Chavan also asked for a central law governing the patrolling of seas,instead of demarcation of borders within police,Navy and coastal agencies. Chavan said Maharashtra had identified 416 sensitive spots in Mumbai and beefed up security at these places. He said the state would be forming a CISF-like force to ensure security at public places like five-star hotels,malls,religious places and theatres.
