Raymond Q4 net profit at Rs 1.30 cr

Leading apparel and textile firm Raymond today posted a net profit of Rs 1.30 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31,2011

Leading apparel and textile firm Raymond today posted a net profit of Rs 1.30 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31,2011.

In the corresponding quarter previous fiscal,the company had recorded a net profit of Rs 6.66 crore,Raymond said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company said figures of the current period are not

comparable with corresponding figures of previous period in

“view of the divestment of files business effective October 1,2009”.

During the quarter under review,the textile company had a net sales Rs 413.43 crore. In the same period previous fiscal,it registered net sales of Rs 329.34 crore.

In the year ended March 31,2011,Raymond’s net profit stood at Rs 53.69 crore while it had a net loss of Rs 46.03 crore in the year ago period.

The company recorded net sales of Rs 3,035.91 crore in the last fiscal while it posted a net sales of Rs 2,507.83

crore in FY’10.

Director Gautam Hari Singhania said.

The company said in the financial year ended March 2011,

sales of its textile segment stood at Rs 1,485 crore on the back of higher realisations in a buoyant domestic market.

Besides,sales of its branded apparel business was at Rs

641 crore during the period,the firm added.
