Aamir Khan still wishes me on my birthday and before the start of exams or any film
You have always talked about your love for dancing and your desire to become a dancing-star like Hrithik Roshan. Keeping that in mind, didnt you think twice about Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
Actually I had to think twice over it,now that I am in the tenth standard and have to worry about studies. But,yes,I have always loved dancing, ever since I was five years old. I used to dance in the bathroom,in front of the mirror and everywhere else till the day my parents discovered my dancing abilities and decided to put me in Shiamak Davars dance classes.
Given the dismal history of child actors in Bollywood,Aamir Khan had suggested that you take a sabbatical after Taare Zameen Par (TZP),continue with your studies and come back to acting as an adult. Do you regret doing Bumm Bumm Bole and Zokkomon after TZP?
No,I dont regret it. I know what Aamir uncle said after TZP,but I wanted to stay alive in my fans minds. I didnt want to be forgotten. All my fans, friends, family and well-wishers really liked my work and I am happy about it.
Are you still in touch with Aamir Khan?
Yeah, very much. He still wishes me on my birthday and before the start of exams or any film.
How do you decide to do a film?
My father looks at the script,my family discusses it and finally it is left to me to take the final call. My parents constantly guide me in the process.
You have done Deepa Mehtas Midnights Children, where the set up is vastly different from your previous films. How different did you feel?
I do all my films to have persona and unique experiences. During Midnights Children,I had a lot of fun; I wont be able to tell you much about my character now. But you must know,we spent a lot of time at the beach and then I had to study and balance it all. I was in the ninth standard then.
Where do you see yourself five-six years down the line?
I hope to go have more experience and thrive on my fans blessings and my well-wishers support.
