Disagreeing with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwats stance that there was no room for radical elements in the Sangh Pariwar, the Shiv Sena said it was an unfortunate and sad matter for the 80 crore Hindus in the country.

In his weekly column in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Sunday, its executive editor and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, who is also the party spokesperson, has said at a time when Islamic extremism was on the rise in the country,it was not right to fumble around with the extremist or moderate Hindutva debate. There is no reason for Hindutva proponents to feel bad or disassociate themselves because those associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh have been involved in radical acts, said Raut, pointing out that this aggressive posturing on Hindutva had brought the Hindutva adherents to power in the Centre and various states. He added that it was wrong to brand Hindus as terrorists or extremists.

The uprooting of Hindus is not the policy of Islam but that of the Congress and its stooges and for that they will stoop to any level. In such a situation,Hindu organisations must not go on the backfoot and not take ambivalent positions on extremist or moderate (Hindutva), said Raut. He,however, pointed out that aggressive Hindutva did not mean bloodshed but having the courage to give a befitting reply.
