SAIL Burnpur modernisation near finish line

This is part of SAILs Rs 70,000 crore expansion programme.

State-run steelmaker SAIL on Saturday said the Rs 16,000 crore expansion and modernisation programme at its Burnpur unit in West Bengal is nearing completion and the plant would boast of new facilities and the latest technologies.

Our engineers worked on a war footing to complete the sinter plant of 3.8 MT per annum capacity. The sinter from this unit is now being dispatched to sister units, SAIL chairman CS Verma told The Indian Express from Burnpur.

This is part of SAILs Rs 70,000 crore expansion programme.
