SAIL wants to meld Tata,Arcelor in JV

Tata Steel and Arcelor Mittal have been approached by Steel Authority of India for a joint venture to manufacture steel,Chairman S.K. Roongta said on Monday.

Tata Steel and Arcelor Mittal have been approached by Steel Authority of India for a joint venture to manufacture steel,Chairman S.K. Roongta said on Monday.

Both Tata Steel and Arcelor Mittal have expressed interest for setting up a joint venture to manufacture steel with SAIL. We are in discussions but it is at a very initial stage,Roongta said.

Nothing has been decided on the capacity and the site of the venture,he added.
