SC rejects TN plea for urgent Cauvery hearing

So,the state should wait till the plea is listed officially.

The Supreme Court Thursday rejected Tamil Nadus plea filed after failed Cauvery River Authority meeting on water sharing for an urgent hearing on its demand for 2 TMC ft water from Karnataka.

The court said the petition filed by Tamil Nadu was yet to be listed before the court and the mentioning list prepared for urgent hearing matters did not have it. So,the state should wait till the plea is listed officially.

The CRA meeting on September 19,chaired by the PM,failed after Karnataka reportedly walked out saying it could not release an additional 9,000 cusecs per day.

Man shot dead in running train

A passenger was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on board the Jogbani-Kolkata Express,Government Railway Police sources said in Malda Thursday night.

The miscreant shot dead the passenger in the S5 coach of the train after it had crossed Kathiawar station,the sources said.

Government Railway Police personnel deboarded the body of the murdered passenger,aged around 35 years,at Malda station and sent it for post mortem.
