Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot seems to have got an ally in his intention to probe into the alleged corruption charges against the previous government. The ally is none other than former vice-president and senior BJP leader Bhairon Singh Shekhawat who has asked him to send former CM Vasundhara Raje to jail. I told Shekhawatji thats the job of the judiciary, not mine, Gehlot said in an interview to an English magazine. Shekhawat, who had earlier declared his intention to re-enter active politics and contest Lok Sabha polls, has been very critical of the former Rajasthan CM,levelling allegations of corruption against the previous BJP regime. Although the BJP leadership has sought to ignore his public outbursts against party colleagues and has been dismissive of his intention to re-enter active politics,Shekhawat has launched an extensive tour of the state to mobilise support. Gehlot said in the interview that his government intended to investigate the corruption charges against the previous BJP regime, most of which, incidentally, were levelled by their own senior leaders. Shekhawat was not available for comment.
