Somany Ceramics Q1 PAT up 21.04 pc

Company's net sales stood at Rs 171.58 crore for quarter ended June 2011.

Tiles maker Somany Ceramics on Thursday said its profit after tax (PAT) rose by 21.04 per cent to Rs 5.81 crore for the first quarter ended June 30,2011,over the same period previous fiscal.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 4.80 crore in the same period previous fiscal,Somany Ceramics said in a statement.

The company’s net sales stood at Rs 171.58 crore for the quarter ended June 2011,compared to Rs 132.34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Commenting on the results,Somany Ceramics Joint Managing Director Abhishek Somany said: “Our current financial results indicate a very optimistic future.We aim to grow by 25-30 per cent in the current fiscal 2011-12”.

Shares of Somany Ceramics today closed at Rs 44.65 on the Bombay Stock Exchange,up 1.48 per cent from previous close.
