Ready Original Glory: In 2008,Srinu Vytla directed Ready in Telugu. The family romcom starring Ram and Genelia DSouza was a runaway hit,prompting a Kannada reboot as Raam in 2009 starring superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. In 2010,it was remade in Tamil as Uthamaputhiran with Dhanush and Genelia. Bollywood Style: Salman Khan and Asin pair together in this Anees Bazmee reboot. Salman plays a helpful soul,Prem,who helps lovers in distress. In a case of mistaken identity,he helps Sanjana (Asin) escape from marriage and later falls for her. The film then follows Prem who reunites their warring families. The X Factor: The superhit Allu Arjun number Ringa ringa from Aarya 2 has been given the ultimate tapori tadka by Salman Khan in the song Dhinka Chinka. Another song,Character dheela,where Salman- Zarine pay a comical tribute to evergreen jodis Raj Kapoor- Nargis,Dilip Kumar- Madhubala and Dharmendra- Hema Malini is also a chartbuster. Hot Status: Considering this is Salmans next release after Dabangg,the trade is confident about its huge opening. Pritams music and the promos have been well-received. All eyes are on Salman to come up trumps in a summer season that has been lacklustre till now. Singham Original Glory: Surya starred in the Tamil action film,Singam in 2010. The film was dubbed into Telugu and released as Yamudu. It was remade in Kannada as Kempegowda starring and directed by Sudeep. The Bengali version is titled Shatru and stars Jeet. Bollywood Style: Ajay Devgn steps into Suryas role in Singham. His Golmaal director Rohit Shetty directs him in this action extravaganza. Kajal Aggarwal co-stars. Devgn plays Bajirao Singham,a cop stationed at a village on the Maharashtra- Goa border. The X Factor: Ajay Devgn in a full- on action role is reason enough to watch the film. The actor has worked hard in getting the six packs. The teaser poster of the actors Singham look,all muscled with an eye-catching Lord Shiva tattoo has already created a major buzz. It looks good. Hot Quotient: We hope Ajay Devgns dream run at the box-office continues. The actor was in fine form last year with Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai,Raajneeti,Atithi.Tum Kab Jaoge? and Golmaal 3. This year hes tasted success with Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji. Singham is undoubtedly a much-anticipated film. Bodyguard Original Glory: Bodyguard is a 2010 Malayalam romantic film written and directed by Siddique. The film marked the return of leading lady Nayantara in Malayalam films after a gap of four years and she was paired opposite Dileep in the film. Prabhu Deva choreographed the song sequences of this blockbuster. Bodyguard was remade into Tamil as Kaavalan with Vijay and Asin. The Telugu version stars Venkatesh and Trisha Krishnan. Bollywood Style: Salman Khans brother-in-law and sister,Atul and Alvira Agnihotri,are producing Bodyguard. Siddique directs Salman and Kareena Kapoor. Salman plays a guy who has a massive hero obsession,who idolises people and then becomes their bodyguard. He ends up idolising Shatrughan Sinhas character and thus ends up as a bodyguard for his daughter,played by Kareena. Complications arise when the two fall in love,there is also a case of mistaken identity and lots of drama. The X Factor: The Salman- Kareena pairing has not got its due in Kyon Ki. and Main Aur Mrs Khanna. The fans will be hoping that the superstars are third time lucky. A major portion of the film is being shot in Patiala. Hot Quotient: Salman as a bodyguard in aviators,doing what he does bestaction and romance. The curiosity value of the film is immense. The producers have marked an Eid release,which is Salmans undisputed box-office turf. Force Original Glory: In what is regarded as Suryas star making role,Kaakha Kaakha (meaning in English: To Protect) was a 2003 Tamil blockbuster. Written and directed by Gautam Menon (his second film after Minnale),the film co-starred Jyothika and Jeevan in lead roles. It was remade into Telugu as Gharshana with Venkatesh and Asin. Bollywood Style: John Abraham stars in this romantic- action scorcher. Vipul Shah is producing it while Nishikant Kamat directs. Genelia D Souza is paired opposite John. In the original,Surya played a cop in a special police force unit. In the Hindi version titled,Force,John is an encounter specialist. The film traces his love story and has a revenge track. The X Factor: The film is a make-or-break for John whose credentials as a solo hero have taken a huge hit post Jhootha Hi Sahi and Aashayein. The films first look poster with a shirtless John,all tattooed,with eight- packs,cool shades and a revolver in the waistband of his jeans has got us curious. The tagline of the film: Bound by Duty,Unleashed by Love says it all. Hot Quotient: Director Nishikant Kamat has proved his chops with Dombivali Fast and Mumbai Meri Jaan. Add to that,the novelty factor of John in a full on action role makes Force a hot property. Kick Original Glory: The 2009 Telugu film,Kick,was directed by Surender Reddy and starred Ravi Teja and Ileana D Cruz in lead roles. It was remade in Tamil as Thillalangadi. Bollywood Style: Sajid Nadiadwala has the rights to remake the film in Hindi. Shirish Kunder has been entrusted to direct Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. The film is about a guy who likes living on the edge,someone who does things to get a kick in life. The film is a love story with action and thrills thrown in. The X Factor: Salman Khan. Also the return of the Dabangg pair. Save Jaan-e-Mann,Sajid Nadidwala and Salman have a terrific track- record. Hot Quotient: Jaan-e-Mann is one of Salmans most accomplished performances. There is a huge interest to see what Salman and Shirish do next. The Jaan-e-Mann songs were beautifully picturised so we can expect some more chartbusters.
