Producer Rajat Rawail, who shot No Problem in South Africa, says that it is one of the most film-friendly countries.
Producer Rajat Rawail gave two reasons for shooting his film No Problem in South Africa. Firstly, shooting in the country had proved lucky for director Anees Bazmee whose two blockbusters No Entry and Welcome were shot there, and secondly,South Africa is one of the most film- friendly places in the world. I have shot in 40 countries and 60 cities, and there is no comparison to the facilities available in South Africa. It has marvellous talent,an ad film market, companies that provide extras, the best infrastructure and the most scenic locations, says the producer.
The comedy starring Anil Kapoor,Sanjay Dutt,Sushmita Sen and Kangna Ranaut is based in South Africa and was shot primarily in Durban and Cape Town. I chose Durban because it is very good for shooting action scenes. It is very easy to get permissions to shoot in sensitive areas like railway stations, airports and other state buildings. We also chanced upon an hitherto unexplored village, which was 200 miles from Durban. It had windmills, was spick and span and all the houses had a similar structure and was picture-perfect. I found it extremely striking, says Rawail.
Cape Town on the other hand is one of the most scenic cities in South Africa including its waterfront. We shot a scene with all the characters on a barge. Though it was an effort to go from the base to the barge carting all the equipment in a speedboat and the barge moving in all directions during the shoot, the scenes are mindblowing with a magnificient view of the harbour in the background, informs the producer.
