Standard Chartered Private Equity on Friday said it has picked up 1.9 per cent stake in the Chennai-based IT and non-IT products distributor Redington India,taking its total holding to about 12 per cent. The private equity firm picked up 79 lakh shares of Redington on July 7 through transfer of shares,Standard Chartered Private Equity (Mauritius) Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Earlier this week,Standard Chartered Private Equity (Mauritius) had picked up 9.9 per cent stake in the company. Total stake of the private equity firm thus goes up to 11.9 per cent. Shares of Redington India closed on Friday at Rs 88.45 per share on the BSE. Set up in 1961,the USD 4 billion Redington is part of the Singapore-based Kewalram Chanrai Group.
