Tata Teleservices Q3 logs Rs 79.58 cr loss

Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) reported a net loss of Rs 79.58 cr for the quarter ended December.

Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) on Thursday reported a net loss of Rs 79.58 crore for the quarter ended December 31,2010 (Q3 result).

The company had a net loss of Rs 100.76 crore in the same period last fiscal,Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income declined to Rs 577.44 crore in the October-December quarter ended 2010,compared to Rs 593.70 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

“The company has commenced operations using GSM technology in August 2009 and therefore the results for this nine month are not strictly comparable with those of the corresponding prior period,” the company added.

Shares of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) today closed at Rs 17.80 on the BSE,down 4.04 per cent from the previous close.
