Time-out

Gulshan Grover would take over four hours daily to get ready with his look for Bin Bulaye Baraati.

Ask director Chandrakant what was the most frustrating part of shooting with 22 actors for his comedy,Bin Bulaye Baraati, and he retorts. “Getting Gulshan Grover to start shooting was a task,as he would take over four hours to get ready! That is longer than the female actors. Actually Grover plays the main villain Durjan Singh, who is very sinister-looking. Gulshan and I styled the look as we wanted the villain to look like one with long hair, beard, prosthetics for a fuller look and body paint for a dark skin-tone. But it was worth it because once he came out of his van he would look really menacing. After a long, long time a film will have a villain who looks sinister, akin to Mogambo of Mr India,” says Chandrakant, who adds that he completed the film in a record 50 days of non-stop shooting.

Bin Bulaye…, which releases on June 10 stars Aftab Shivdasani,Priyanks Kothari,Om Puri,Sudhir Mishra,Rajpal Yadav,Johny Lever and others.
