United Jihad Council chairman Syed Salahuddin has warned the Hurriyat leadership to get their act together,failing which it will take control of the separatist movement in Kashmir.

Responding to the growing infighting among the separatists,Salahuddin asked them to work out a common minimum programme and unite for the larger Kashmir cause. It is high time the separatist leadership came together on a mutually agreed agenda. And if they are not able to do this,then we will take control and leave no room for them, Salahuddin said in a statement.

He also suggested that Hurriyats 1993 constitution which makes United Resolutions as a basis for Kashmir resolution should be the starting point for unity among the separatists.

Salahuddin advised the J-K Police not to confront militants. The Kashmir Police are our brothers. We do not want to take them on. We urge them that they should do the same.

He had a warning for them as well. But if the police continue to hit us,they will stand to lose. They will bear the brunt of a counter attack.

The UJC chairman also rubbished the governments surrender policy,saying no Kashmiri militant will lay down arms until the Kashmir issue was resolved. We reject this proposal. It is a design against the freedom struggle, Salahuddin said. New Delhi should understand that no Confidence Building Measures would resolve Kashmir. Kashmir will be resolved when India responds to the political aspirations of Kashmiris.

Interestingly,Salahuddin came out in support of stone-pelting in Valley,saying it was a legitimate tool of resistance. Stones are our response to bullets.
