Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday strongly objected to a joint team of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Police arresting Mohd Kafeel Akhtar from Darbhanga for alleged terror links, without informing the state police. Nitish termed the arrest as objectionable and unlawful and said that the state government would lodge a formal protest with both the Karnataka Police and the Ministry of Home Affairs after getting a report from the state DGP.
Nitish said: It is absolutely wrong that police from another state come here and arrest someone without informing our police. We have already objected to such arrests and written a letter to Union Home Minister.
Nitish said Bihar DGP Abhyanand has spoken to his Karnataka counterpart and expressed his reservations.
