Shares of sponge iron producer Vaswani Industries debuted nearly 32 per cent below its public offer price of Rs 49 per share on the bourses today and fell further.
The company’s shares opened 31.73 per cent lower at Rs 33.45 on the BSE vis-a-vis the issue price. Similarly,on the NSE,the scrip debuted at Rs 33.70,down 31.22 per cent in comparison to the issue price.
Within minutes,the scrip lost further ground and plummeted 56.63 per cent to Rs 21.25 on the BSE,while on the NSE,shares of the company plunged 56.12 per cent to Rs 21.55. The shares was listed nearly five months after the public issue closed for subscription,as the initial public offer (IPO) came under Sebi’s regulatory scanner. Vaswani is engaged in the integrated business of manufacturing sponge iron,steel billets & ingots and power generation.
