The Whistleblowers Protection Bill,2011,which is aimed at putting in place a mechanism to encourage persons to disclose information on corruption or wilful misuse of power by public servants,including ministers,was introduced on Tuesday in the Rajya Sabha by MoS for Personnel,Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy.
He said the Bill,already passed by the Lok Sabha,would provide adequate safeguards against victimisation of the complainant.
The minister also said the government had accepted some suggestions and appropriate amendments had been moved.
