Wipro appoints new heads for biz verticals

The three new heads will report to Wipro CEO TK Kurien,effective from January 1,2014.

Wipro,India’s third largest IT services exporter,on Thursday announced another round of organisational changes with new heads for three business verticals and the exit of veteran top executive Anand Sankaran.

Sankaran,who was with Wipro for over 24 years,headed the India & West Asia business and infrastructure vertical.

Shaji Farooq,senior vice-president of advanced technologies has been appointed as the global head of its banking,finance services and insurance (BFSI) business vertical.

Farooq,who joined Wipro from Infosys will take over from senior vice-president Soumitro Ghosh,who will now head Wipro Infotech,the India and Middle East business.

GK Prasanna will take charge as the senior vice-president & global head for Global Infrastructure Services in addition to his current role as SVP and global head for Product Engineering Solutions. These three new heads will report to Wipro CEO TK Kurien and these appointments will be effective January 1,2014.

Commenting on the organisational re-alignment,Kurien said,“We are committed to better aligning our internal organisation with our clients’ needs and to make investments in driving predictability and automation in our delivery.” FE
