London: Prince Charles,reputedly one of the richest men in Britain,had to borrow money from officers protecting him on a trip abroad. Charles found himself short of cash and had to borrow £3,000 from police officers escorting him to fork out expenses for travel,The Independent reported. The paper said it was famous that the British Queen did not carry cash and it appears that this lack of liquidity had rubbed off on her eldest son. Prince Charles returned £2,744.34 to the Scotland Yard after his Royal Protection Team paid for “travel expenses”.

Pattinson poster sparks H1N1 fears

London: Fans of Twilight star Robert Pattinson have been banned from kissing a life-size poster of the actor for fear of spreading swine flu. Teenage girls and boys flocked to the card-board cut-out after it was unveiled at the Reel Cinema in Crewe,Cheshire,to coincide with the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon,The Telegraph reported. The British actor’s fans were found kissing the poster,forcing the cinema staff to stop them from doing so to prevent spreading germs and even swine flu. The staff have stuck a note to the cut-out that reads: “Please help reduce the spread of germs by refraining from giving Edward… a kiss or a hug.”

First fuel cell boat cruise in Amsterdam

Amsterdam: Emitting only water vapour and gliding silently through Amsterdam’s centuries-old canals,a canal boat—a popular tourist attraction—powered by fuel cells made its debut cruise on Wednesday. The ‘Nemo H2’,which can carry about 87 people,is the first of its kind designed specifically to run on a fuel cell engine,in which hydrogen and oxygen are mixed to create electricity and water,without producing air-polluting gases.
